@Dubai Karma - thanks for the comments - I am flattered that you may think that I could be an entrepreneur ! How I wish :) and unfortunately it is a coincidence..I got a flyer on the site on my car in media city - I guess they are smart to be doing all their marketing in one go to create situations exactly like this :)

Just took a look at the souqmal.com website. It would be more impressive without the spelling and grammatical errors - for me, it doesn't inspire confidence in a business/organization that doesn't take the time to look after these "basics".

Here is a way to earn Skywards miles. Get yourself a credit card which is eleigble for Skywards miles. Then go and buy yourself N a t i o n a l B o n d s you earn miles when you purchase on your card and you can redeem your bonds after 3 months. during that 3 months you are also eligible to win 1million AED as well as 5000 other prizes. win win don't you incur a 3% charge if you buy National Bonds using a credit card?

You would have gotten more with Emirates NBD cards. And Bella UK, 1200 Points is AED1200, so can spend them like cash AED1200. Call the bank on 600540000 & ask them to mail u your Voucher worth all the Plus Points you have and u can walk into any Dnata shop & redeem that Voucher. Hope this helps.

SalsB the Airmiles are worth almost nothing. i.e u need hundreds of thousands before u can exchange them for an over toaster. I personally use the Emirates NBD Dnata Platinum credit card that gets me Dnata points, one dnata point is worth AED1/ which I can then spend like cash, for tickets on over 135 airlines. Am v happy wid it. I wouldnt say they are worth nothing, over the last 2 years Ive just saved and saved the points, recently I got 2 free return tickets to the UK, not bad going.

right...but don't you need both in order for that to work? Not sure whether you know, there is now an Air Miles Gold card, linked to the platinum, premier & advance HSBC credit cards, which offers double the miles vs. blue - which means its quicker to get to the airline tickets...might be worth a try

HSBC doesn't give you Skywards, it's the blue airmiles card.

we have the Emirates NBD one and only use that. Plus for 200 aed per month you can double your points. we just bought two biz class tix to Spain with our miles (last used them in Sept) and we are prettu much down to nothing, but it's well worth it and hope to go to US in December on poiints alone.

I've got the Emirates Islamic Bank credit card... it's been only a month but it seems to be all good so far *touch wood* I left HSBC for EIB because I wasn't getting much out of the airmiles to be honest. SalsB, where did you get those surveys from? We also have the one from EIB. After one year of having it, we have enough miles for one business class trip to Western Europe if that is any indication.

The Citibank card gives 1.5 points for ever dollar spent (I used mine to buy my new car!), although I think there area costs associated with the card

It is only really the ENBD Infinite one that is any good, as with the 'Platinum' you don't get the automatic Silver Skywards level and you dont earn as many points. You need a minimum monthly salary of 35,000 for the Infinite one, I think it is 20,000 for the Platinum. ENBD Silver is garbage I have had this one for several years and have managed to accumulate about 1200 'plus points' (about 7500 airmiles) and I use my CC for all my monthly spending and pay it off at the end. I have decided to go with ADCB as their Etihad one is much better (just a shame Etihad don't go half as many places!!)

You don't get the introductory offer miles with Emirates NBD any more :(. I think they're OK for actually earning miles, though. DH applied for a new card months ago, when they were still giving you 75,000 miles for getting the card, and it took them so long to process it by the time they eventually did, the offer had finished and they refused to honour it.

Emirates NBD Bank has some pretty decent cards. Their Infinity or Platinum gives you loads of miles. Ok, the cards are not free but they had (if they still have I don't know) the offer that you get 75'000 miles upon signing up and pay the intial fee.... now 75k pays 3 upgrades to Business from ECO on 4-5 hours flights....well worth it ! Afterwards the rates for spending is also pretty decent.... you also get Skywards Silver.....check it out http://www.emiratesnbd.com/assets3/pdf/cards/termsAndConditionsSkywards.pdf Enjoy !

Works like a dream for me.

Thanks Ladies...just checked out e-rewards: "Joining e-Rewards is FREE and by invitation only. Our Sponsors send invitations to their customers inviting them to join the programme. If you've provided your e-mail address to one of our Sponsor companies, you could receive an invitation to join e-Rewards." I just changed my options on my Skywards account to receive promotional emails, so hopefully I will receive the opportunity to participate in e-rewards. :)

I hear you Loopy! I recall hearing a colleague mention he got a credit card on the promise of bonus miles immediately, and it was 3 months or so later and he was still waiting. The reason for that is probably buried in the 4pt small print somewhere! Any feedback from travelers earning Skywards points (other than flying 1st/biz class)?
