hi hun, yoghurt is fine but go for full fat. Fromage frais is also fine but the plain one. The fruity fromage frais available for kids (petit felous & the similar ones) here are full of sugar (a small pot has around 11 grms of sugar). You can use any full fat yoghurt & mix it with homemade fruit puree or just offer it plain. DS loves plain yoghurt.
At 6+ months you can give ur LO from what you'r eating without the salt. I started weaning at 6.5 months by fork mashing from what we'r eating & it was easier than preparing puree. Shellfish, honey, nuts & cow milk as a drink should not be introduced before the age of 1 year. Other than that, if you dont have allegies in the family, any other food should be fine including eggs & strawberries. You can use cow milk in cereals & cooking. As for water, few sips with his solids should be fine to get him used to it's taste, he's still getting enough fluids frm BM, once he starts eating more esp animal protien & reducing his milk feeds he would need little bit more.
yep if ure baby is happy and enjoying eating thats fine...i use to give my lo petie folous (spelling ?) small fromage frais things thicker than yoghurt. also try boiling up some fruit like apple n pear and puree it...mashed banana.... water is good too maybe get alittle sippe cup thing to see if your lo can start drinking out of that.
Look out for annabel karmel book she does plans etc for meal times and suggests really good reciepes.
HI ladies,
I am note sure i am doing the right thing but this is what i am feeding my baby everyday
early morning - BM
around 9am - Cerelac with apple
lunch - pureed vegies
2pm - BM
4pm - BM
biscuit snacks in between
6:30pm-BM
8:30pm - BM
do i need to give him water too?
Also, my maid told me that she gave him 2 small spoons of yoghurt (normal low fat yoghurt)!! is this ok?
When can i start introducing chicken?
Any feedback would be much appreciated.
Thanks,
