Just found this type of spider on the side of my bed, never had a spider in the house here before and hope there are no others around!

Anyone know if this one is dangerous?

Do you not have big spiders in your homes in the Ukay? Only house spiders, but they can be quite big. I am terrified of them all. Even the little ones.

Do you not have big spiders in your homes in the Ukay? We get quite big black ones but none of the spiders are dangerous. I once had a camel spider in my Garden it still freaks me out, it was HUGE.

Since I posted this a friend has said it's a St. Andrew's Cross spider, which seems to be the case. The way the spider 'sits' plus the zig-zag web all tie in with what I see online. Although it can bite it's not venomous - thank goodness!

I don't, but if any spider-fans are reading can you identify this beauty please? I found it in my garden today and its length was 4.5 - 5 cm long. I wondered if it's a female because the one underneath was lacking things like a body and head so wondered if it was an unfortunate male.
