I only pay my DEWA every 3 or 4 months and have never been cut off. Although I'm in an apartment rather than a villa so it's obviously not as much. And I just pay through the DEWA website; seems to be the easiest way.

Maybe you were unlucky! What I said is not from my own experience, but was related to me by a friend who seems is doing this. I prefer to pay my bills in time, and when I don't have the bill, I check online or at the Emirates ATM.

I think DEWA must have got stricter with payments recently. We always pay our bills when we get them, however we have not received our latest statement which would have been due around 5th May and DEWA cut us off on 27th May without notice. When I spoke to them they said they had sent out notice in The next bill, which obviously I also had not yet had, as its not due until 5th June. So not even 1 month overdue and we were cut off. Perhaps we were unlucky, first time in 5 years we had not paid our bill by the due date. I would add that they were very efficient on reconnecting, the customer services stayed on line while I paid the bill by CC on their web site and then within 30 min their workers had come and turned the water back on.

Actually DEWA also has a "pain limit", if you're under, you don't need to pay in full :D Is something like the equivalent of 3 mts or 2500 AED, so to say.

cheers , do you have to pay in full ? Yes, you do need to pay in full, unlike Etisalat where you can get away with paying 50% of the outstanding without fear of being cut off. DEWA not so kind.

Online banking is an option. Then the other option is at ANY Emirates NBD ATM that takes cash, you only need your DEWA account number and follow the on screen instructions. No need for Emirates card. With the DEWA account number you'll get the balance to pay and you pay as much as you want or in full. Good luck.

You can check the amount owed on line at www.dewa.gov.ae (as long as you have the contract number) and then pay at any fuel station or post office. edited by roysie on 01/06/2013

Easiest way: pay your DEWA bill via online banking. No need to go anywhere.

Don't know about malls, but they have offices all over town where you can pay their bills. Or you can open an online account and pay online. Check their website.
