Thanks for your detailed reply, Carrera. You are right about the IB. I have heard that more and more schools are offering this system because of easy transition into international curricula. It also makes sense to go for nurseries affiliated with specific schools since entry assessments are becoming increasingly competitive. Nord Anglia international school is another new school that will be offering IB system. I don't know if they have any feeding nurseries or not.
My DS will be 17 months in September and I, too will be sending him three times a week initially. I've also booked a tour with Toddler Town British Nursery's new branch near Safa park. My sister's daughter goes to their JBR branch and she's very pleased with it.
I did an online research and initially had three nurseries in my list - Dovecote, Little learners and Child's play. LL is feeding for GEM, Child's play - for Kings. I decided that in order to make the process of entering school a bit easier I need a nursery, affiliated with certain school. Child's play is also very nice (pictures, at least) and fees are very reasonable, but Dovecote is a feeding nursery for Repton school, which is IB curriculum school - being an expat in Dubai, we understand that we may move to other place one day and in my understanding if a child is following IB it's going to be easier for him to adjust himself in new school (correct me if I am wrong). I like their timing, the fact that they have "sleep time". My DS is an early bird and his day sleep may start at 11:00. They confirmed that I can stay with him initially until he settles. Understand, that not all nurseries allow this. My DS will be one year and nine month in September and I plan to send them to nursery for 3 days a week only, at least to start with. GEMS also has IB schools in Dubai, but they are popping up here and there almost like MacDonalds and I am not sure that high teaching staff level can be maintained in all branches, when there are so many of them. The latest news also do not add optimism in respect of GEM. http://gulfnews.com/news/gulf/uae/education/no-grade-10-class-in-dubai-school-1.1339590
Thank you very much for Dawn Ventures - will definitely contact them as soon as we are back to Dubai.
Repton is only IB for the final two years of the secondary school. The Primary school is British Curriculum, the senior school does IGCSEs and then IB Diploma.
Thank you, plum2. In this case - any idea of IB licensed PYP school in Dubai? TIA

Hi Carrera,
I will definitely let you know about Dovecote after I've visited them. I wasn't aware that they don't have a pool. That's not a top priority with me, though as my DS has been having swimming lessons for a few weeks now and we plan to continue. I've heard that they don't really teach swimming in nursery. The pool is just for water activities. If you do end up looking for outside swim class for DS, I would highly recommend Dawn Venturas.
Just out of curiosity - you mentioned that Dovecote is number 1 on your list. Is there any particular reason for that?
Dear momtastic11, would appreciate a great deal your feedback about Dovecote. I am out of Dubai now making a research on which nursery I would like my son to start attending in September. This particular one is number 1 in my list. However, I have not been there personally and it will be great to hear your thoughts. They do not have pool, which for me is a limiting factor, because my DS adores water and I would like to encourage him for swimming lessons. But on the other hand, we can always do this outside. Anyway, in anticipation of your feedback. TIA
Thanks, Lolacat. It helps to know that you've heard positive things about this nursery. I am visiting Dovecote on Sunday and will ask them all the questions that I have in my mind. Meanwhile, any more reviews on this or other nurseries I've mentioned (toddler town, kids island) would be much appreciated!
Hello. I'm looking for a nursery for my son and someone from the new Foremarke school mentioned Dovecote nursery. I was wondering if anyone has been sending their LO there and have some feedback to give. Other nurseries I've seen are Toddler town and Kids Island. I would appreciate anyone would share their review on any of these nurseries. Thanks.
They are owned and managed by the same group. Why not visit and ask lots of questions and see if it is the right place for your child as such decisions are very personal. I have only heard positive feedback about this particular nursery.
