Thank you both! Sam7, I would love to have your scoby (?!!). Would you be so kind as to email me at fairfield8b at Gmail dot com and I'll find a way to pick it up from you.

@fairfiled
My Scoby just started as I said. As soon as I get a mother I will post it and would love to share that with you. Keep checking ;)
I will post the progress. Right now on top of my tea, there is a growth of thin film with bobbles, which means the bacteria and yeast mixture are alive and breathing. So excited
Hi Sam7 and RamC, I would be very interested in getting a 'mother' if either of you had another.
Am very interested in starting my own brew.
I'll keep checking in.

My long search for kombucha has come to an end :)
Thanks to dear Sam7, I started my batch and I already can see a 2 mm layer over my tea :)
Thank you again Sam7 and others who tried to help me !!!!!!!
If anybody is interested, I am willing to pay it forward
Hi RamC! Well, my third batch is now brewing and DH is hooked as well, but I don't have a 'baby' yet!! I'll post on here as soon as I do though, so keep an eye out and hopefully you won't have to wait too long :)
@bohoinparadise
Thank you so much for your help! My problem is that I have looked everywhere and never found the drink. Few months back bought a couple from USA, but at the end could not back them since I had too much :( do you know where to buy????? Here in Dubai??????
Sorry, I can't help you as I just threw my "mother" (kombucha, that is) away last week! But I wanted to share a tip on how to get kombucha from drinks: whenever you buy a kombucha drink there're usually a few tiny strands left at the bottom. Drink about 1/2 of the liquid and leave the rest covered with a cloth in a warm place. After about a week you'll have a small kombucha mushroom. Just add black tea and sugar et voila! After a few days you'll have a batch of kombucha tea. For some reason mine decided it's had enough after 2 years, though.
@ Sam7
Dear Sam, I just saw both your post and Sandy123!,, I will contact Sandy and if I could not get in touch with her, then I will hunt you done ;)
Thank you so much
This kombucha tea is quite interesting stuff. Heard of it before but just read about it today.

Hello again RamC ,
I'm so glad you posted here again :)
after i promised to share a Kombucha with you, i couldn't log in to EW because i had problems with my email and every time i log in here i need to go to my email to copy the password (i don't know how to change it ) and when i managed to log in successfully i couldn't find the thread and i forgot your user name :(
RamC, are you still looking for a kombucha scoby? I was recently introduced to kombucha by my mum-in-law, and as soon as she mentioned it, I recalled reading your post here. Long story short, I have just returned from NZ with my very own scoby and brewed my first batch today. Assuming everything goes well, I guess my kombucha will have a 'baby' in 3 weeks or so, which you're more than welcome to have :)

http://www.expatwoman.com/forum/topic204450-i-refuse-to-believe-nobody-has-any--kombucha--in-this-city.aspx
maybe you can post a message addressed to her and she hopefully notices it and responds.
Good luck!
I just bought a beautiful 3 Liter jars that can be stack up on top of each other with a dispensers. It looks beautiful on my kitchen counter. The problem is, DH is just making fun of me and believe I am too naive and gullible.
The thing is, two of the lovely ladies have promised to share some of their home grown Kombucha!!!! I got so excited and now I am all ready to go and no Kombucha!!!! I just cannot find them and I have been on line every day :(
I just have complete faith that when we promise something we go through with it, Or am I too naive
I still want to believe we are all here to help and support each other, aren’t we?
