If you decide to go for the MaxiCosi summer cover, the ones you find at Just Kidding are their own (I think they re called Just Essentials) which have been made locally. I bought it without paying attention and it is really ill-fitting with lots of fabric everywhere which probably only makes poor DS even hotter. I later on saw the real Maxi Cosi at Bumble Bee's so you may want to try this if you end up not going for the sheepskin.

In terms of leaving the car seat behind, I got some kind of cover with icepacks in them which keeps the car seat cool while you are shopping etc. You need to leave the packs in the freezer and then take them out just before you leave... I cannot remember the name but i can look it up and let you know !

Picked up a 100% sheepskin pushchair liner in mamas and papas Dubai mall today. Shocked at the price of aed 499 but it was the only place I could find it and didn't know how much they are outside of Dubai so reluctantly paid the price.

Thanks ladies. Being Aussie, not sure why I didn't think of it earlier but yes, you are right, now that I recall, many parents in Oz use the sheepskin liners. Checked in several kiddie stores at Dubai Mall today but they didn't have them and as usual, the staff at Mothercare were clueless when I asked them to order one in. I'll ask my mum to courier one to me. Thanks again.

I had one of these sheepskin thingies. My Australian friend bought it for me when I had my first baby years ago. I was skeptical at first but they are fantastic. They keep baby cool in the heat and warm in the cold. Get one if you can, they are great.

Yes the sheepskin liners are fab used for my dd since she was born and just got a new one for my third lo..... My mum got mine from mother care in uk, as I've never seen them here, then the other day saw them in mothercare at mirdiff cc. If u research on the Internet they are a oz thing and they even sell them for cots etc in oz.

At mothercare, there is a portable, battery operated fan. It's shaped like a bird and my kids like them.

My DD is the same. Goes bright red in the face and cries because she gets so hot even with ac on. Not sure where I read it, maybe a thread on here, but bizarrely the sheepskin pushchair liner things (not sure what they're called!) are supposed to keep babies cool (presumably because the sweat is drawn into it?). However haven't tried it because I can't find one out here. It's so frustrating in UAE, they have all these shops but it's so hard to find baby stuff! Probably going to have to order on line and have it shipped here.

My DD was the same as yours! Would take her out of the car seat and her head would be soaking wet from sweating :( If you have a Maxi-cosi car seat, you could try the Summer Cover?! It made a big difference, she still used to sweat, but not as much. Just Kidding sells them.

Hi Ladies My 10 week old sweats terribly in her car seat and her pram to the point where she gets so uncomfortable and cries. I have tried laying a variety of different fabrics on the head support pillow and the back part but she still gets sweaty. This happens indoors no matter the level of AC. Any tips on how I can make her more comfortable? thank you!
