My daughter was at Scholars International for 4 years. It is not a good school. If you read their website, it is as though you are reading about a completely different school. Although they claim to be British Curriculum, I have to question the way they teach this. There is a of writing, tests, textbooks but no practical application at all. Their fees are absolutely astronomical when you look at their teaching standards. I would never recommend this school to anyone!
I'm planning to put my daughter into Cambridge international school Dubai..I've got her the admission. .but lot of people are saying the level of education is going down. .Please help
Thanks alot kewlzany... I got myself a job at mirdiff right next to star international and I am
Currently living in Ajman...we have just moved to UAE.lets see how we sort things out.....
There are so many issues, good school, transport, job etc.
I will Definetly call VISS tomorrow...
I hear ya.. I moved to UAE 2 years back and there's so many tough decisions to make! Good luck with sorting everything out. How old is your child?

My boy has been at VISS (Grade 2 now) since KG2. I can't recommend any other school better than the quality of education, staff and facilities they have.
Wouldn't the school's books be closed for September admissions? I suspect you will go on waitlist (if any)...
Oh yeah, that's another school I'm considering and it's close to where I live. Do they take assessment there? Assessments worry me because DS takes time to warm with new people :-(
Yes, they have assessments for KG1+ but for those small grades, they totally dont have a Q&A with the child. When my boy was being assessed for KG2, it was a Q&A with me (purely) and the teacher simply asked him to draw something and had small chat with him. By far the BEST school I've come across. I know many royal family children from the Northern Emirates go there.
But seriously, I think you would go on waitlist at this time...
That's a huge relief for me. Phew! Yeah, I've heard of the royal family children going there and that Ruler of Sharjah, Sheikh Al Qasimi founded the school. I don't want placement for this year. My son is 28 months now. It will be for september 2014 for FS1.
They have nursery too :)!
I know but unfortunately DS has had a bad year healthwise because he was going to playschool and fell sick.. a lot, hence after a long and hard argument with DH have decided he will go to nursery only after he turns 3. How old was your son when you enrolled him in KG2 at VISS?

I've seen quite a few reviews on here about Star International School, Mirdif when I was looking at enrolling DS there and most of them were good. Since it's far out for me I've decided on Sharjah English School.
Sharjah English school was my priority too but couldn't get a p
Place there as its full.
Really? Do you need it for this year or next year? Do they have a waiting list? I want a placement there for DS next year for FS1.
Well that's what they said... It's FULL.. And yes for 2013

Putting them in star international mirdiff now... Any reviews

my son goes to Scholars International Academy he is in grade 1 and i am not satisfied with it academically , now the options (according to budget ) is Wesgreen , Vistoria English School , Choueifat sharjah,,
i dindot read any good reviews about any of them , Can anyone help me
Thank you
My daughters are in SIA grade 1 and 4 and I am moving them to School of Creative Sciences. I was not too happy with their academics or even extra curricular programme. We moved here two years ago and I feel my daughters have had a back slide in academics. I heard about SCS from many people and had a look around and it seems pretty impressive.... so its off to scs for us.....
My two DD go to Sharjah English School - past entrance exams with no issues (although previously down academically in previous schools but still excepted) and absolutely flourishing, lots of homework though. Check their website for fees. I just paid AED27,000 for one secondary and one primary for this term if it helps. However, AED400 for primary after school (unless enrolled in after school activities) as primary DD leaves at 3 with her sister for the bus. An abundance of parents from Dubai are schooling their children there now due to fantastic reputation and mine are excelling.
sharjah english school is much more expensive than victora & wesgreen :(
SES (shj Eng Sch) has always had an excellent reputation, similar to JESS is Dubai.
When it comes to schools, quite often you get what you pay for. Some are ridiculously overpriced, but SES is on par with the rest of the decent schools.
I have a friend who is constantly comparing the level at her kids school to the level at my kids school. It has reached the point that I now have to point out to her that she pays half of what I pay, what does she really expect for her money?
Blast from the past!
Does anyone have any idea how the scholars international academy is????
Please let me know... I am looking for a school for My son who will attend grade 1 in September
