My DH has disc prolapse issue which is causing pain in his back and right leg and may need to go for surgery to fix the issue. He has visited few orthopaedics who all have recommended the surgery to fix the issue. Currently he is visiting an Osteopath however the pain still remains at the same level and he has to take medicine every day to manage the pain.
While he is trying to find the solution via Non-surgical procedure as a Plan-B he needs to find a good neucrosurgeon to carry out surgery if needed. Do you know anyone who carried out surgery at Wooridul Spine Center. Incase you have recommendation for any other Neurosurgeon than please let me know. Would appreciate your feedback.

Thanks Amelton for sharing your experience. Just had another bout of severe pain from prolapsed disc and could relate to your post. I feel encouraged to go vivist Dr Kadri right after work today...itself. Oh, bubble_trubble - I feel your pain!!! Did you manage to see him? If he wasn't free, please please make a plan and get it checked out by him at the earliest opportunity. Believe me, there is life after this dreadful disabling situation and the sooner it is sorted the better for you. Hugs.

Hi SafzzZZ - firstly really sorry to hear this and I know what he is going through - my sincere sympathies. It is both worrying and draining so I hope the following will help..... Following severe prolapses at L4-L5 and L5-S1 (resulting in dead, cold right leg!) I had microdiscectomy 5 years ago which failed, then further surgery 6 months later (all of this with an Orthopaedic Surgeon at another clinic not mentioned). I was left with severe disability on right side, pain all the time, couldn't sit for more than 10 minutes (so had to stop work as PA). Tried everything, on painkillers all the time, physio constantly, tried epidurals, nerve blocks etc. Not a good quality of life.... I had not been told that apparently 10% of back surgeries fail. Trust me to be in that 10%!! Summer 2013 still searching for a solution... I did the rounds here and in England and saw many specialists, including Wooridul - and all of them except one said I should have further surgery to remove the existing implants (supporting spine) and start again. Only one Surgeon said wait, he was confident it could be improved and, infact, that further surgery could not be guaranteed to help the damaged nerves which were the reason for my problems.... Dr Hassan Kadri at MedCare Orthopaedic and Spine Hospital - he is a Neurosurgeon (not Orthopaedic surgeon - very important if spine involved and I wish I had known that before!). http://medcareorthopaedics.com/index.php?option=com_doctorview&id=39&Itemid=126&lang=en. Had facet joint injection guided under CT performed (3 small procedures) and following this I had intensive physiotherapy at Advanced OrthoSpine with Fariba - she's wonderful https://www.aos-hc.org/. She analysed my posture, corrected my gait, helped me stretch out all the muscles which had become withered by lack of use, encouraged and helped me back to looking forward to life... Now am almost totally pain free (unless I do something stupid like cleaning the windows!!!) and can walk for miles, sit through dinner with my husband at last, have an almost "normal" life. I trust Dr Hassan completely - when last summer he discovered that my neck/cervical vertebrae were also severely prolapsed and he told me surgery was imperative I had no hesitation and the surgery was a huge success - I now have Titanium implants/cage and full feeling in my hands, warm hands for the first time in I don't know how long! MedCare Orthopaedic Hospital is very efficient. They do have their own Physio department which is also very good but Fariba is just amazing and so encouraging, friendly and non-judgemental. On Al Wasl Road near NBD Bank. I hope this helps! xxx

I had a microdiscetomy done by them last May for bad Sciatica due to pressure on my spinal nerve from a disc. Was very happy with the surgery.

I was referred to Dr Patrick Choi at Wooridul and I thought he was excellent. After 6 months of pain and discomfort with a bulging disc I thought I was headed towards surgery as did my GP, however after physio there (which was very different than my previous physio sessions) I am now pain free. Sorry I cannot help regarding surgery.
