Hi everybody,
Thanks for the advices, I've already contacted DKC.
I only want to understand if what they are saying here is true or not. It seems that almost all the info is right.
I will be flying Emirates, but as she will not allowed to fly with me she can go by another airline. A company here suggested Luftansa, but I'll try KLM also.
And it's not only the price, I only want to have a reference in order not to waste money in things that are not necessary or people who will not treat her right.
And she will go after me with my family, so we still have some time, I only wanted to have everything set before I leave.
Regards
Have just brought 2 Border Terriers here from the UK, all in (injections, passports, export UK side, import Dubai side, made to measure crates, flights) cost was a little over £4,000. They flew with Emirates and the handling was excellent.
If KLM is part of your flight plans contact them directly for pricing and advice. I only fly with KLM with my pets. They are very sympathetic to pet owners in flight and enroute. As for pricing - my babies are worth it to me. I cannot speak for others.
Bought ours over a year ago now.
U need someone in your home city to do the export then get DKC to do all this end. The expensive part of course is the flight plus your vet fees at home. If all injections are up to date u should be able to do it soon but really I don't think a week is long enough.
I had trouble this time of year to get them on a flight as its just after holidays and everything is full.
Good luck u will need it!
Hi everybody,
I'm facing a last minute problem here in my country. I'm moving in a week and I'm still trying to find a way to bring my 1 year old Lhasa Apso with me. I've contact the airlines and some experience people and they told me that my dog can only be transported as "alive cargo" (I really don't know how to translate it). They are chaging me more or less US$ 4500 to bring the dog. Is it a reasonable amount?
Does anybody have the experience to bring a dog to Dubai?
Btw, I'm traveling from Brazil.
Thanks in advance for any help!
Thats about right, contact DKC as Cymraes mentioned they've helped many people import their animals...
Hi there, I would contact someone like Dubai Kennels and Cattery (DKC) www.dkc.ae - they helped us with the Dubai end of importing our dog, even if you don't use them their website is comprehensive and they are helpful on the phone.
There is lots of information on shipping dogs into the UAE on this website, see the main and the pets forum and use the search facility. I am not sure what the rules on bringing a dog from Brazil but there is lots to do if you bring a pet from the UK - pet passport etc.
I believe you can only bring them in as cargo - we paid over £2,000 UK pounds to bring our dog into the country, without the injections and checks beforehand.
Good luck
