Anyone seen the Mac make up brushes offer on Groupon? Do you think it's genuine? I would like to buy them but am a bit reluctant after hearing many complaints about sites such a Groupon. Advise please!

If you seriously think these brushes are fake then I would contact the police as it is illegal. It would save lots of people spending money on fake products, especially if you know they are 100% fake.

I agree about writing to them and clearly asking. I'm not sure if the brushes are authentic, they could be, but the eyeshadow palette is definitely not MAC, but could be a good set regardless... <em>edited by na115 on 29/01/2012</em>

MAC had a promotion on recently where it was 4 brushes for 369AED I am slightly skeptical that you can purchase them for 219AED There are so many fakes around so be aware :-) I did search up thier website and they do have fake MAC products pictured on it including fake makeup brushes. They are probably saying that the 88 palatte is MAC because they have similar on the website. I would be very certain the brushes in the Groupon are fake. I read the ad and nowhere does it say that the eye shadow is MAC. How do you know the pictures are fake? I must have 8 fake Mac brushes I bought 3 years ago because they are the same as pictured, and..I bought them at MAC.....not everything is fake :) Counterfeit makeup is a big business. The company has a 16 piece MAC brush set on thier website, you can buy that brush set for 15USD from a Chinese trading company. Counterfeits look almost identical. I love MAC and have my own genuine brushes bought from MAC. If fake MAC is plastered all over thier website then I would not believe the Groupon brushes are real. True the Groupon doesn't list the eye shadow palette as MAC, the company website does.

The ones on EBAY ( known fakes) also look like my MAC brushes but they are fake I would be interested to know where Groupon got them from and how they can sell them at such a low price I have friends that work for MAC in the UK and they often get customers coming in to compare their fake brushes to the real thing If someone wants to buy them then go ahead it is your money you are spending, it is just unfortunate that there are many many of these being marketed as real when they are not. Personally i prefer the real thing, yes they cost more however they last for forever :-)

I wouldn't risk wasting my money. Just because the pictures look real, doesn't mean the company behind it is. Anyone can copy a picture from a website and use it and call it their own.

Good point about the eye-shadows. Am thinking of just getting the eye-shadow brushes. Delivery time states 2-3 weeks, so that's not too bad. they always mention, the time frame 2-3 weeks (BUT it takes ages). I am still waiting for the item since 13th December. :(

Just one more question, This will be my first Groupon purchase and it asks you to fill out a billing address and you will be given vouchers. However in the add it states that the product will be delivered to your door, so now I'm confused! Also do they mean my physical address or the post box address at DH work that we use? Sorry for all the questions!!

They are not M.A.C eyeshadows! The brushes do look like M.A.C. It seems strange to me that M.A.C are selling their brushes like this. The visual is for sure not a M.A.C visual and the brush in the picture isn't. The eyeshadows look like a brand that Alshaya have in Debenhams and VaVaVoom and then of course Alshaya have M.A.C so who knows. I will find out with a friend and let you all know! x
