Hi Tia, I'm Mehak from gourmetpoint.com. We sell Organic 100% Raw, lightly filtered Virgin Coconut Oil, 314 ml bottle for AED 45 delivered anywhere in the U.A.E.. Visit http://bit.ly/coconutoildxb ...
Hi, how do you expel it? Is it extracted from dried or fresh flesh? Up to what temperature does the processing heat the coconut? What body does your organic certification come from? Thanks.

Ive just started using the parachute one in a desperate attempt to get my 'newly arrived in dubai hair' under control! I slept with it in my hair the first night, then shampooed it out in the morning, there was a dramatic improvement. Used it again today, this time i ran it through my wet hair and twisted the curls back in - still wet so fingers crossed it goes ok I do smell somewhere between a bad take away and a chippie van, but will have a look for some of the brands others have mentioned.....

I swear by the Forest Essentials range - www.forestessentials.com - not sure they ship outside India but their coconut oil - and other products - are fantastic.

You can find it in the Union Coop. It was kind of hidden in the oil section on bottom shelf. It comes in a large tin, green color. The brand is C.B.C pure white coconut oil. Ingredients: Pure coconut oil. It was solid when I opened it I'm pretty sure it's less than 20 dirhams for 680 grams/745ml.

The gluten free supermarket online has organic coconut oil which is not hydrogenated. Just want to add that I've not ever bought it, so don't know what it's like. I did, however, buy Nutiva brand when I was in the USA - again, yet to try it. edited by terrible_twos on 15/10/2012

It is so great for your skin, and I use Nutiva, which I got in the US. But I wouldn't spend the money on fancy stuff, just stuff you cook with. One brand that doesn't smell strong is Spectrum Naturals. You can find both of them on vitacost.com, and maybe in Organic Shop? You know it's also great for your thyroid? You are reminding me that I need to find a little empty bottle to put it on as I've not been using it since I moved to Dubai. Re smell, too, I like it at first, as it reminds me of a trip years ago to Tahiti, and once it soaks in, you can't smell it anymore.

Got mine last week from Holland & Barrett at MCC. It is organic, extra virgin and cold pressed. It comes in a big jar, almost 500ml and is 90dhs. edited by urban socialite on 15/10/2012 I wonder if it smells really spicy? I would use it more often and more liberally if I could find a brand which didnt make me smell like a stirfry.

I have a green bottle, brand is Shalimar's 100% pure coconut oil. See this bottle everywhere, so shouldn't be hard to find.

I am assuming that the "Parachute" brand found in the cooking section is pure and can be used for skin and hair... It is in a bright blue plastic bottle I was thinking the same thing--I have seen a brand in green bottles, too. I think the kind sold in jars in places like Organics is extra virgin coconut oil. More expensive, but higher grade if that is important to you.
