My hubby is Tunisian American and I am American. Our kids names are from all over the world but for the last one I insisted on an Arabic name. We named her Lilia.

Dima, Zeina, Lama, Daniya, Aliya, Haneen, Ola (starting with Ain the arabic letter) Some of the meanings given below are not correct, and some of the names have no roots in Arabic so better you research further the name that you like. All the best :)

aya - meaning sign from god/miracle - it's a verse from the quran it's my DD's name and we love it! all arab people look a bit confused and ask if i am muslim/married to an arab when i tell them! I can only imagine how often they will ask me!! LOL we are naming our daughter Sheikha Aali. LOL& we are not Muslims or Arab. We are Cuban-American. We just LOVE arab names and the culture! I LOVE Zahra, Noor, Reem, Jude, Haya, Hind, Amna and I can go on. It was so hard to pick a name!!!!

May/Mai. It's short and sweet, and it means 'flower of the desert'. It's really easy and acceptable both here and there.

Well I have rather a special liking for Laila, Sara, Noora, Hanna But from the names suggested I also like Jude, Iness, May, Reem, Lara, and course Zamzam. One day I will have a Zamzam - I just have to persuade one of the children though.

Some of these names are verry old...and fairouz is a boy's name... so is Malek and Zain....the female version for Malek would be Malaika... a lot of female names end with "a" or "ah", its just an arabic thing...it makes the name more suitable for a female and not male...DD's name is Esra( pronounced Isra in arabic).. with a more turkish spelling... other names would be... Lyla, Zara, Zoya, Hania, Romaisa, Irsa lots more on the internet Fayrouz (the famous Egyptian female singer), Malek and Zain can be used as girls names as well. Zain is interchangeable, nd can be for a boy or girl, as is Noor and a few other names. I think the name that Norak is referring to is Malak - that's a girls name.
