Hi I have a Boba 3g carrier for sale if you are interested. We bought it from 490 AED. The child can be taken on the front and the back aswell...However it is not front facing since that can be harmful for the baby's hips. If you do a search on the internet you might find more info on this. We only bought it for a recent holiday trip and was only used once.

I quite liked the stokke carrier. However I can only compare it to the mothercare carrier and an unbranded model. edited by Cowboy on 12/12/2014

Boba carriers (the stretchy wrap and the structured carrier) are available online here from both Babysouk.com and Luxelittle.com. The Boba structured carrier (called Boba 4g) can be used from birth with the integrated insert. I believe the Ergo newborn insert must be purchased separately. As BellaUK says, front facing positions are generally not recommended. There is a FB group called Dubai Babywearing that holds regular meet ups where they show you the different types of carrier and you can even try them out :-) Personally I liked the Boba stretchy wrap type for the first few months (although it's a bit of a pain to get on), and then moved onto the Boba 4g carrier.

Congratulations prideofmoon! I absolutely loved the white mesh baby born carrier I had. It was so simple (once you did it a few times) and I always felt that baby DS was secure. I tried a few of the wrap-type carriers and just wasn't comfortable with them. I guess it's all about your individual preference. :) I would try a few different brands and styles on and see what suits you best.

I love my Manduca. It can be used from birth up to 20kg. Both my kids loved and love it.

Ergo is a very soft structured carrier, you can use it from birth. Apart from ergo, other soft structured carriers are not for newborns. I advised you to check the design of the carrier because wearer have to suffer through great deal of pain sometimes and make sure to read [url=http://www.hugabub.com/flex/how-to-use-the-traditional-ring-sling/180/1'>ring sling instructions[/url'> carefully. edited by alannahcusack on 10/12/2014

The Babybjorn mesh one is called the BabyBjorn Carrier One, in the inward facing position it has baby in the frog position, but if you use it outward facing it is in the 'dangling' position which is not reccomended. The only outward facing one that supports baby's legs in the frog position is the Ergo 360. I have just ordered this but am yet to try it out so I can't say how good it is yet and it's more expensive than the traditional Ergo. I read that the traditional Ergo is better for back carrying than the Ergo 360, so I am keeping both but will use the 360 until my daughter is 1 as she hates facing inwards at the moment (she is so nosey) but she loves being carried so will make my life much easier!!

I used an Ergo carrier with DS1 and DS2. Brilliant! Very adjustable. As the kids got heavier, I would pass the carrier to DH, and with a few quick shoulder strap adjustments, he would be ready to carry them. I liked that I could do a back carry as they got older, which was very secure while travelling, and personally more expedient than pushing them in a stroller. I'm curious about the new mesh styles.

I've used Boba wrap (also called Sleepy Wrap) and the Peanut Shell. Of the two, I really liked the Boba one. There was a distributor here in Dubai for the peanut shell but I had to order the Boba straight from the U.S. Google for more info :)

The Babybjorn was redesigned to have baby in the same frog position as the Ergo, so not all babybjorns are bad. Just don't buy a model you don't know and haven't checked out. I have the Ergo and love it but a friend has the new mesh Babybjorn which is great for hot climates and she loves it. I don't think you are supposed to have baby front facing in any carrier due to hip positioning (unless they are on your back facing the front)

Have to vote for ergo as well, both my kids loved it and used it from the newborn insert up until backpack position... It doesn't have a baby facing out option though. I have also made my own stretchy wraps cause the ergo does get too hot here, baby head sweating profusely is not good at all. I tried the bjorn with my oldest but she cried so badly in it, it was incredibly stiff.

You might want to look into the Babybjorn and read what is written about the poor position for the baby's hips. Some of my friends have had them and thought they were great but found them very uncomfortable after an hour. I didnt actually try the Babybjorn but I did have an Ergo which was amazing. Much better position for the baby, incredibly comfortable too. I could easily wear it 2-3 hours without any discomfort even with an older baby. They do a lightweight one which is perfect for this climate too. You can get them from the little baby shop in Town Centre Jumeirah.

Hi all mothers out there. I am expecting my second child in a few months and I was looking into buying a nice baby carrier. I need to know your recommendations as per your experience. I'd prefer not to buy the sling type. There are so many products in the market. Some friends have had not so good experience with their carriers as they droop when the baby is in and this leads to mums having back trouble. Please can anyone share their experience and also enlighten me as to what to look for in a carrier. Product recommendation will be good. I need front facing and back facing both also something that can be taken on the back.
