He sorted it out over the phone but my DH is arranging for him to come to our house as the router is still playing up and cutting out once in a while, we then have to unplug it and it starts up again, works OK til the next time it cuts out!! All very frustrating!

We have had and are still having, although mildly, problems with our wireless. We initially tried the reboot way, DH has now reset the wireless and re programmed our computers. During our problems with this we were also experiencing problems with our scheduled recordings off OSN via our Du box. On calling DU customer care I was told that DU DONOT (lol) support wireless!!! They assign 2 I.P addresses to each home ( so we have been told) so if you have two boxes plus a wireless router the IP address you have assigned is constantly wondering to which appliance it should support (not very technical sorry) hence sometimes no sheduled recordings recorded or no access to internet. For now (touch wood) we are okay-ish. But for the past week or so I have had problems connecting to some sites and even EW. I have to use one of the "unmentionables" to enable me to connect to EW.

we have exactly the same problem - very weird... started yesterday too - not an etislat problem, I don't think as the cable computer works fine - just the laptops and iphones... won't connect to the internet

Might sound obvious but have you tried calling Etisalat/Du. That's what I'd do...;)

I see, if you reset its back to default. Have you tried calling Etisalat Internet support, I think they can guide you through the process over the phone if its their router, if not an Etisalat make maybe the info here will help. http://tinyurl.com/6a2xsha

Did that first! Unfortunately it is more complex than that as the router has had to be reset meaning that the previous network settings have been lost. DH has tried but reached the end of his tether (needs WEP key, security password, reconnecting all the laptops etc etc) - he didn't set it up and the guy that did is unavailable. At least we can plug into the wall and stay online that way - just v.annoying to lose wireless access in various rooms where we use laptops, tablets etc. So help still needed... thanks :)

OK so it's Friday, most of Dubai are away and our router is playing up and we can't get it to talk to the laptops! Is there anyone out there who we can call on a Friday?? Please someone, I am lost without access to the internet except through the wire on the wall. You may have done this already so sorry if its useless, but have you tried switching it off for a minute and restarting. I find that works most of the time. edited by Di@DXB on 15/07/2011
