Hi ladies, i have been in Dubai for over 3 years now and still no tupperware. I know tavola have a small selection but not enough, also no tupperware parties where you can get a bunch of friends together over tea / drinks and shop and gossip. I am looking at getting it in here and searching various avenues, but i would like some feedback from you lovely ladies.

If it was here would you have a party or just buy of a site?
Do you think there is enough of a demand in Dubai for it?
Are there women who would want to become consultants?

Any and all ideas and feedback would be great. Would love to have it here. :) Thanks ladies in advance.

No-I wouldn't buy it-or store any food in plastic dishes for that matter. Much prefer to use glass or ceramic containers-I never feel plastic is completely clean and it picks up the smell of whatever was previously stored in it-especially if it was something spicy.

It seems awfully expensive but looks good. I would never pay those prices for eg a lunch box set etc though.

Tupperware parties died a death in the UK years ago. The stuff is very expensive and no better quality than items you can buy in supermarkets. I do still have stuff I bought yonks ago but hardly use it these days. I have a couple of tall containers I use for rice and pasta.

Love the concept of Tupperware parties but I wouldn't buy it. I think it is over-priced although my MIL still has tupperware that she uses on a daily basis and bought over 35 years ago, so I guess you can't knock the quality of it and if it lasts that long then I guess it really is value for money. I prefer lock n lock as it is almost 100% spill-proof. Tupperware used to last for ages, but not anymore. I still have Tupperware I bought in the eighties, but I threw away all the Tupperware containers that I bought since 2000. It becomes very 'sticky' and no matter how you wash it or with what you wash it, it doesn't help. The lids also don't fit properly after a few uses and is then not spill proof. Definitely not worth the money anymore. I also now rather use the 'lock' ones, but all the brands are not of the same quality. The containers I bought here is not so spill proof as the containers I bought at home. i always loved tupperware so bought few different designs and sizes lunch boxes for my dh (he is fond of taking new boxes) but as you said they have become too sticky and the lids are no longer functioning.it was a battle to close the lids :) bought one set of lock and lock box and he is happy with that.

I would attend a party if I got invited. I like tupperware but also like Lock&Lock. I have both. When I go home or to my in-laws I often buy second hand tupperware at markets etc. I do think that quality wise it can be a bit hit and miss. Some of the tupperware I have had doesnt seem to like the dishwasher that much, others are fine after extensive use.

From what i can gather, the lock n lock boxes use a side locking mechanism where as the tupperware has a different sealing technique. Also different plastic is used. I cant comment 100% just my general observation. www.tupperware.com to see the products.

I mean the actual branded Tupperware products. I love the products as they last forever and i use them for everything. Kids lunchboxes, snack boxes, fridge, dry food storage. I find they are the only real ones that keep food fresh. I think the prices can be a little on the expensive side however they do literally last forever. Also its not just about the products i use to love going to Tupperware parties back home, lots of fun an afternoon with some friends talking, shopping ect. Thought it would be here by now but sadly its not.
