ive used Primolut for years, never had any side affects, other than my first period after taking them can be quite heavy. I normally have my circle around 4 days after taking them.

I guess it's not that odd to continuously take birth control pills to suppress--that's the effect of depo for many women, and also the reason many women choose depo over other forms of birth control. when I first heard of doing this, and read up at noperiod.com, it didn't sound so strange after all.

I too use Cerazette; it's commonly prescribed to women with endometriosis who for medical reasons have to stop their periods. No side effects for me, but of course everyone is different with these things.

before "Modern Times", women would not be menstruating for at least 9 months a year.. :\:

Primolut worked for me, the first time was fine no side effects, but the second time (again it worked) but once I stopped it and prior to my period starting I has the worse headache every day for a week, I mean real proper axe head so never again. If you want to stop them for 'a special moment' (not sure if I can put the word in ?) then have you seen these www.softcup.co.uk although not sure if you can buy here... has anyone seen them ?

Easiest way without taking contraceptive pill is to go onto Primolut 10mg. It is available over the counter at pharmacies in Dubai. You take it three to four days before you are due and take a pill at day for the time you want to delay. It won't protect you against pregnancy because it is not a contraceptive but if you simply want to delay your period for one to two weeks this is a good way to go. After you stop taking it your period will come two to three days after that.

A gynae here has advised taking the pill continuously for a long time to avoid painful periods. She says it does no harm to the body and in fact, naturally, women are not designed to have 12 periods a year, as before "Modern Times", women would not be menstruating for at least 9 months a year..

I needed to 'delay' my period by a week or so once and the doctor gave me something (can't remember what it was though). I would be wary of going on the pill for one month, when I first started the pill I had a light period for an entire month so you may get the opposite effect of what you want. Joining two packs of pills together can work, but some people have some light spotting in any case and you'd probably want to get used to taking the pill before doing that.

I'm sorry, I must be missing something here, but why all the coyness in this thread about the word "period"? It's making us seem like a bunch of Victorian aunts. If people here believe that it's in some way offensive to the local culture, I would ask them to kindly open their eyes and note that feminine hygiene products - along with condoms - are openly sold here with no restrictions at all. There is absolutely no need for censorship of the word. I know, it makes you wonder why women skirt around the issue of having the painters in.

thanks all of you :) will talk to my Doctor today. I hope there is no side effects of these pills. Not usually, unless you smoke or are fat.

thanks all of you :) will talk to my Doctor today. I hope there is no side effects of these pills. I'm with the other ladies that have taken the pill continuously before. A fitness professional I know has done this for years without side effects. Sounds extreme to go that long, but this is a website she references...nothing replaces what your doctor says, but it is interesting supplemental information http://www.noperiod.com/

thanks all of you :) will talk to my Doctor today. I hope there is no side effects of these pills. I think you should be fine. My doctor had recommended to me the same as Louisedvs and I found no problems. For medical reasons, I've been on the pill for more than half of my life and have never noticed anything negative come of it. But definitely talk to your doctor first!

Cerazette and the injection can stop your p but it does depend on you as a person. I would ask your GP. yes will see her today. When i was taking the contraceptive pill they told me not to have my usual 7 day break after 21 days pills and that would stop my p ( which it did)

Taking a pill continuously should do it.
