Makes me think...how much are villas in Fujairah? If the drive time is only 40minutes might be worth relocating for cheaper rent?

We did this trip last Friday, from Qusais to Fujairah (near the R/A at Fujairah City centre) took us 45 minutes ( this includes a restroom break and 2 photo stops). We took Emirates Road to the National Paints R/A and then took the 1st exit which put us on Maleha Road. Kept on it , till we saw the sign for Fujairah ( Exit 47/road 84). Nice smooth road with little to no traffic and fast ( at the speed limit of 120 km/h). From Springs to Fujairah, you would have to add at least 25 - 30 minutes.

There is a new road opened - it's doable. I'd love to know the suggested start and end points if you want to time the journey at 40 minutes. The Springs to Dibba in that time? Nah, not happening. Definitely not!

That's what I was trying to figure out. Do we have to go to Sharjah or is reachable from the Bypass? Thanks AB for the link

There's no way on earth you can do Fujairah- Dubai in 40 mins. We spent a lovely Easter in fujairah but it took quite a bit longer than 40 mins for us to get there and to drive back. It's a really easy journey though and I LOVE fujairah. There is a new road opened - it's doable.

Morning, we are doing this drive in a few weeks and wondered which route is the most scenic for visitors? Or should we drive their on one road and back on the other? TIA

You should go back again just for the new venue and for a nice drive. It's really nice and well worth it.

Thanks for that BMAP. My friend and I went to see the bull butting a few weeks ago, but at the new venu down near the fort and the museum. It was really nice because the fort is lit up once it gets dark dna they change their colours every half minute or so. Once the bull butting is finished, they bring in horses and camels for the kids. The men do the traditional dancing and singing and there are food stalls all around. Im not sure about the dates for the one at the corniche, but the one at the fort ends on December 16th, the day before my hubby arrives in Dubai. :( Here's a link for it: http://fujairahinfocus.blogspot.com/2011/11/bull-butting-at-fujairah-fort-english.html

We did this trip yesterday and headed across to Fujairah to see the Bull Butting down at the Corniche in the afternoon. I thought I'd come in and post some directions as we found it difficult to find out exactly where the road starts via the newspaper reports. The drive took about 1 3/4 hours from the Meadows. Basically head up to the Dubai Outer By-Pass Road (611) and take the Kalba Exit onto the Kalba-Sharjah Road (Labelled S116 on GoogleMaps but the road is sign-posted E102 and called Maleha Road). You will see a petrol station on the south-eastern quadrant of this cross road where you turn right. Follow the signs to Malaha, Fujairah, Kalban. You go pretty much halfway to the other siade of the coast along this road when you will pass under Road E55. A few kms after this, you will see an exit sign to Fukairah, Khor Fakan (perhaps Exit 47??? Sorry can't read my writing). This is the new road and it will take you through cutouts in the mountains until you join up with E89 which will take you down to the coast. If you are interested in seeing the Bull Butting (bloodless), follow E89 towards the Corniche where you should then turn right onto E99 to get to Al Gurfa. The Bull Butting is about 5-700m down the road opposite the beach. I believe it's held from about 4 - 6pm every Friday and Saturday during the winter months.

Yes, on the new road it can be done (outskirts to outskirts) in about that time.

I've done Fujairah to Education City in 75 minutes .... once, and it was before the speed cameras were installed. Whoever is doing it in 40 minutes, highly doubtful - must use jet fuel and a battering ram

It would maybe only take 40 minutes if the traffic was clear!
