Hi Sal_H I had an initial appointment with him and finally after getting my insurance sorted I am getting a Duplex Scan this afternoon. First impressions were really good seems a nice guy and very professional. After the scan this afternoon I think it will be a couple of weeks before I get the laser treatment in a couple of weeks. I will keep you posted to how I get on. The good thing is that they no longer strip the vein but use laser treatment which is great as very little recovery time. Hi Marti I know this post is for a long time ago but I want to do laser for my varicose vein with dr sobeh, I would like to aks you how was yours? Are you happy with the result ? How long was the recovery time and you were stocking? I'm really appreciate if you can share your experience with me

Just wanted to say - as it has not been mentioned - I had veins removed from both legs a while ago. I was told it could affect circulation and found I got some lack of feeling in my feet. This was particularly when wearing ski boots - my feet went totally numb I could not ski with everyone else as a result!

I'm going to see him in City Hospital. I think he has his own clinic but also works in City Hospital too.

Why would he move to a new clinic? The one in Healthcare City was his own. Has that closed?

All I can add is I am currently awaiting my second consultation with Dr Sobeh, my insurance pays. I had the scan last week which I think was about 2500 AED or around that figure, not sure what the rest will be. So far so good!

hi cleopatra and blokkop, please help me out i went to Dr. Sobeh's clinic in Healthcare City. I did the consultation. I am scheduled for vein scan but unfortunately my insurance does not cover city hospital or his clinic. the cost is expensive including the sclero. but if it really works i can push my luck. can you suggest how much was your cost for the treatment including the consultation, scan and sclero? or can you suggest other effective doctors which are cheaper? Veincure is also expensive as well as Cosmesurge.

We can only agree with the others on Dr Sobeh. He is simply the best. Our daughter had a similar op (laser) but more complicated. She got the best after surgery treatment, even whilst he was in the UK. He even delayed his flight by one day to see her before she left back home. edited by blokkop on 11/05/2011

Just a question might sound silly, but does one remove VAricose veins only for cosmetic reasons or is there a medical reason why they should be removed? Varicose veins get removed for medical reasons as they do more harm than good to your body. In addition they can be quite painful. After I had them removed I manage to sleep again without being woken up because the vein was itchy or my whole leg being crampy.

interesting that I saw this post today. DH and I were discussing my veins the other day. Mine haven't popped out yet but I'm not sure if you'd still consider them varicose or spider. Just wondering if I should go for tests to see since it does run in the family and my mom suffered dearly from hers. How are they removed/treated here??

Hi Sal H Dr Sobeh doesn't do the scans but will you will then have another appointment with him to discuss the results and treatment. I must say he has been great at fighting with my insurance company and finally am getting the surgery next week. I have needed to get both legs done. The scans are duplex scans which are effectively like MRI's but done on your veins and Becky was very professional and knew what she was talking about so no need to be concerned. Sure everything will be fine for you dont be concerned:-)

I had my treatment done by Dr. Sobeh and was very happy with it. The veins look good now, but I still have a tingle around my ankles. Apparently this can last a couple of months and depends on the individual. I haven't been doing any extensive exercise yet, but have no problems doing my day to day stuff. The scans are extensive and thorough and it takes about 45 minutes to an hour. I had two so far one before the treatment and one after neither of which were done by Dr. Sobeh, however after each scan I had a chat about it with the doctor. So all in all I'm very happy with the outcome and shall go back for further treatment...soon I will have legs like a model or so I hope ;)

Hi Marti I had my initial appointment with Dr Sobeh yesterday & when I called today to take an appointment for a scan, they told me that it's not him who conducts the scans in his clinic. it's another Dr Becky(?).. Was your scan performed by him or the other DR? I'm concerned because I thought it should be him personally doing the scan so he can take notes and know where exactly he should operate instead of relaying on another doctor's report?? Confused :(

no way, i think i was right as rain in a few days, maybe a week. its a really easy treatment, its laser done, so very non invasive... i was running alot at the time and it hardly interferred... every one has different recoveries though so best to talk it through with the doc and see what they suggest. i think you have to wear compression stockings for a while after though, i cant remember too much, but it deffo didnt affect me too much. no scarring either but a tiny bit uncomfortable for a week or so from the procedure.
