So I have my sister's family over and were really looking forward to watching a dolphin n seal show today at the dolphinarium... but apparently, they have no shows on Sunday. I feel really guilty for not checking this ahead of time since they leave tom early morning :( The kids... girls aged 7 and 9 were really looking forward to it.

Is there anything else that's as much fun to do today? Was thinking of taking them to Kidzania... can someone explain in detail what exactly it is and what to do there? Any other options are also welcome... we were planning to head out soon after lunch. Been to Lost World already and Dolphin Bay's not a good option since none of them know how to swim.

TIA.

Second Jules...Not that people in this dolphinarium treat badly the dolphins, just that they are not creatures to be kept in captivity (and I seriously doubt that any captive dolphin in Dubai was born in captivity, meaning that have been captured to enjoy people....). for entertainer, wait, I grab my and tell you

How about the underwater zoo too in Dubai mall theyll see all types of sea life there and penguins. Go there after kidzania and then hit candylicious for a sweetie fix. I bet they have the best day ever.

There's lots of other things to do and I for one am quite glad you didn't get to go. Stovetop, if you want to see dolphins then please go and see them in the wild. There's no excuse for having these magnificent, intelligent creatures in captivity for the entertainment of people. Please think about how many were slughtered, to being the few here for YOUR entertainment. Rant over. Ooops, Jules... didn't know they were treated badly in there. Had heard from a german lady who had a cousin working there that the dolphins love having kids around etc. Anyway, these guys are heading to muscat tom to see my parents so my dad said he'll try n arrange a boat trip in the sea to see the dolphins at dawn :)

Yeap, Kidzania is a winner, bu ta little expensive to go regularly! The kids can go to say, the hair salon and choose to either work there and earn money,, or be the client and spend money. It's very well done and very realistic. great props and costumes etc. Also there are so many other things to do at the mall to make it a day - aquarium, fountains, sega, movies, ice rink etc. You'll have no trouble providing an exciting day there.

Kidzania is like a real life situation/city, except it's on the size of the kids. For example, they will play dentist, but like in real life, or sell pizzas (make them if they want to be the cook), etc... I can't explain to you in details, as mine are grown up and not really wishing to go there. But every family I know who went there loved it - perhaps not any more the fifth time, but definitely the first time was a blast. So yes, this is a great option, I think even better than Dolphinarium. Parents have fun to. You can also go to "la cité des enfants" are Mirdiff City Center. It's great fun for the kids too (and mummies as well). Mirdiff City Center also have the "ifly" and "tree track" (I don't know how you name it in english, originally, it's a tack set in the trees. Here, it's outdoor, but it's still great, safe, yet, impressive). Not sure the girls are this type of girls...

kidzania is good. check the website for an in depth info. its like a small city where the kdis have lots of stuff to do i.e. role play etc. they can stay for hours inside on end.. after that, take them to the skating rink in dubai mall as well. then at night, have dinner by the dancing fountain.
