Really disappointed with this year’s entertainer

Ok so i know the entertainer should be used to try new places but i also like to use it in certain regular places.

Got the entertainer last week and went to use it the next day at Sumo sushi for lunch and it’s not in there

I then went to use it on Friday on the palm and all of the restaurants on the palm are not in there (bidin bondi is where I wanted to use it)

Went to use it yesterday at Mcgettigans and its no longer in there

Last year at least 3 of my favourite places got taken out as well

At this rate i don’t think i will buy one next year!

Has anyone found the same problem or is it just me?

We got ours through the National. I noticed too that a lot of our favourites aren't in there anymore. Swarovski, we never use even 20% of the vouchers so if you need any, please email let me know. I know we're not supposed to share vouchers on here but it's really not worth your while buying it if you're only here for a few weeks.

We won't be going to the Westin any more, as we regularly would use the vouchers for both "Blue Elephant" and "Hunters", but they're no longer in the Entertainment book, as we discovered, much to our chagrin the other day :( Ah, well, plenty of other restaurants in the book, but not with such good views :) Spice Emporium at the Westin is still in the Fine Diner. My favourite, so always the one I check first!! FFx

I think what the companies participating in the Entertainer really want, and what the Entertainer markets to them, is that people will come and try them with an Entertainer offer and will like them so much that they go back full price. If a particular outlet is finding (or believes) that this doesn't happen (same people visit each year, only ever with Entertainer vouchers) they may not consider it to be cost effective for them to keep participating. The other thing that would put them off would be if they find they are full, and are effectively turning away full paying customers while people on Entertainer vouchers have tables. So the more popular somewhere gets, the less incentive for it to be in the Entertainer there is. Happy exploring of lots of new places :)

As its not in the Dubai one. In the blue dubai one..its in the first few colorful glossy pages. Ferrari world too!! Easy to miss..and what a shame that would be edited by Homeward Bound on 29/01/2013

And I don't think they hike their prices in anticipation of Entertainer users. It's not only a case of blatantly hiking prices, they find creative ways to get around it. The golf courses are masters at this; always having '(not so) special offers' that instantly void the use of an Entertainer voucher. Great concept in its early days, but slowly losing its attraction.

I assume that before buying you check what's in the book right? Can't expect companies to participate each year, it's up to them. And I don't think they hike their prices in anticipation of Entertainer users.

Honestly, I'm not sure what everyone expects, everything to be totally free...? It's up to the restaurants/attractions whether they participate (I'm pretty sure they pay for inclusion, but may be wrong) and then they lose money with the redemptions... You only need to use a few vouchers to make much more than your money back, one brunch alone in fact more than covers the cost of the book, let alone desert safaris, theme parks etc...I'm betting pretty much everyone will buy it again next time...! :D Well said Mrs Mozz, check it out... if you don't like don't buy!

So many places now inflate their prices to ridiculous levels in anticipation of customers using Entertainer vouchers that I think it's unfair to accuse people of wanting things for free; they just want these things for a reasonable price, which is all an Entertainer voucher seems to get you these days. Was a fantastic tool for getting bargains in years gone by, but not so much anymore.

MrsMozz, thank you for your voice of reason! The fact that people feel they are entitled to free food and other goodies is appalling. I find it to be a privilege to enjoy a free dinner. If you don't like the offers, don't buy The Entertainer. Stop whining.

Have been buying the Entertainer since it was priced at Dhs 89 or 98 (there was only one book then). It truly has been a great experience and have vouched for the Family book always (thank you Entertainer team). But, this year, it has been a let down, a part of it is my fault, as I should have seen which restaurants are included on their website and not assumed prior to ordering. Even then to have per restaurant one voucher for brunches and the rest for main course or a regular buffet is disappointing. As it is a [b'>Family[/b'> Book, it should have been minimum of two vouchers of the same kind (i.e.brunch/ buffet).

And there is no voucher for Cafe Madeleine in Intercontinental Festival City, so disappointed (nothing for Intercontinental at all in Fine Dining or Fairmont, but liked the Fine Dining anyway as there are Rivington, Zabeel Saray and the Ivy in it)...I probably do get my money worth after a few month, but the selection is definitley poorer this year.

there is only one voucher for the friday brunch at Al Muna. The other 2 vouchersare weekdays. The same with Latitude @ JBR. The rest of the vouchers are for a weekdays. Khaymat At Bahars buffett in al qasr has also been taken out and instead its just a main course. Lots of resturants in the marina are no longer in such as the sala mexican, Haandi and the Morroccan place. Unless Ive missed it , I havnt seen a Baskin Robbins one :( However, Krispy Kreme is in this year and wasnt last year ( already used them :) )

We used Al Muna on the first week of Jan, no issues. Its an amazing brunch too. Only one voucher per book though. We were gutted to find only one voucher in the book, especially as we'd promised MIL and her partner we'd take them there for a belated Christmas present when they visited ;)

Agreed, there does seem to be a number of restaurants that have opted not to be part of the Entertainer this year, however it is hardly the Entertainer's fault if establishments choose not to be a part of it. It pays to have a good browse through online to see if your favourites are in there before purchasing. Personally I opted for the fine dining only this year, as I thought the main book was pretty average, but like a number of the inclusions in the fine dining such as The Ivy, Rivington Grill.

There is lots of new stuff in there though....Apres in MOE is back, The Ivy, Latitude Brunch at JBH, Mina a Salam Brunch (ANY beverage package), Rivington Grill (both venues). It still saves us a great deal of money at any rate, although hugely frustrating when a favourite disappears. agree. There are things missing but there are new things too. It gives an excuse to try somewhere new!!!!!

Wow, brunch in the entertainer - SEY83 are you sure it can be used on a Friday? Thats great if so! I agree that its annoying when a restaurant isnt in there - we were disappointed to find the Atlantis restaurants missing but then its good to try new things/places too I suppose.
