Another year, another birthday, another milestone (probably the most awaited one). By their second birthday, most toddlers are ready for their toilet-training. But don’t hope for overnight miracles. Expect some accidents as they learn what is required.
They’re still pint-sized but they have a strong personality of their own and they won’t always behave the way you want them too. There may be even times when you’ll get the urge to shout or berate them. But keep calm, and remind yourself that your 2 years old will not be doing this to make your life difficult; they are still so small and learning.
You’ll also notice a significant change in their me-time activities. You’ll often hear them talking to the family pet, imaginative characters (something they saw in a cartoon or in a book). Applaud their little milestones because your criticism at this time can undermine their confidence.
And here’s a fun fact: Girls tend to be more advanced with their language development than boys.
