Upsetting episode with Taxi driver
My husband got into a taxi today and got taken on a roundabout route inspite of protesting that it was the wrong way. So DH refused to pay him the full fare and would only pay him what he normally pays. The Taxi guy then called the cops and DH got on the phone with the RTA. The cops came by and said that both parties could go to the PS to register a complaint and then left. The RTA meanwhile advised DH to make the full payment and take a receipt which he tried to do but the Taxi guy wouldn't give him a receipt. So DH refused to pay the full fare. At which point the driver threatened to call the cops back.
DH buckled thinking he would be forced to go to the PS and make a complaint and who knows what the outcome of any court decision will be? and paid him but also got all his details including taxi no and license no and name. But no receipt. Will the RTA accept his complaint without the receipt? Is there anyway we can pursue this out of court?
